A consultation is £100.
Redeemable against your projectMost bathroom studios will quote you for free, hoping you’ll be too polite to walk away. We don’t. We charge £100 for a design consultation because the time matters — yours and ours. You commit to an honest conversation. We commit to the work that follows.

Pick the right opening
for your project
If you’ve already decided Dockyard is the right fit, reserve a paid home visit. If you’d rather have a short conversation first to decide whether to commit, start with a free phone call.
Reserve a Home Design Visit
George visits you at home with a folio of materials and references. You walk the room, discuss what you want from the space, and leave with a clear sense of how your project would proceed. Within five working days you’ll receive a floor plan, mood board, sample boards in the post, and an itemised fixed-price quote.

Start with a phone call
A short introductory call to decide whether Dockyard is the right fit for your project. We’ll talk about what you’re trying to achieve, your timing, and your budget range. If a home visit makes sense, we’ll arrange it from there.

What happens next,
step by step
-
You receive a confirmation email
Immediately after payment (or after booking the phone call), you’ll receive a confirmation with a short questionnaire: rough room dimensions, photographs of the space as it is, a Pinterest board or reference images if you have them, and a sense of your timing. Five minutes to complete.
-
We agree a date
Within 24 hours, George will email to arrange the home visit at a time that suits you. Most consultations are scheduled within a week of payment.
-
The home visit itself
60–90 minutes, in person. George brings a folio: the case study book, tile and brassware samples, supplier catalogues, a laser measure. We walk the room, discuss the brief, look at materials together, and talk about budget openly.
-
Within five working days
You receive (by post and email) a floor plan, a mood board, curated material samples, and an itemised fixed-price quote with a project timeline. Everything you need to decide whether to proceed.
-
The decision is yours
If you decide to proceed, the £100 is deducted from your project deposit. If you don’t, the design time was real and well-spent. No follow-up calls, no chasing.
The honest answers to the questions you’re probably asking
Why do you charge for consultations when most studios don’t?
Free quotes are funded by the projects that go ahead. If a studio is quoting ten people to win one job, the nine others are subsidised by that one. We’d rather price the design time honestly and only meet people who are serious. The £100 is redeemable, so for clients who proceed it costs nothing.
What if I decide not to proceed after the consultation?
The £100 is retained — the design time was real. You keep the floor plan, mood board, samples, and quote. There’s no follow-up pressure. If you change your mind later, the £100 still applies if you book within twelve months.
What if you cancel or can’t make the agreed date?
Full refund or reschedule, your choice. We don’t take a payment we can’t honour.
What’s the minimum project value you’ll consider?
£30,000 and above. Below that, the depth of design we offer doesn’t fit the project, and we’d be wasting your money and ours. The phone call is the right place to check this if you’re unsure.
Do you offer 3D renders?
Available as a paid add-on (£250) for clients who want to see the room rendered before committing to materials. Most clients don’t need it — the floor plan, mood board and physical samples are enough. We’ll discuss it during the visit if you’d like to add it.
What’s your guarantee?
Two-year studio guarantee on installation workmanship as standard. Extended Care available as an annual subscription, extending coverage up to five years total. We’ll go through both during the consultation.
